Endodontics

Endodontist performs a variety of procedures including root canal treatment, endodontic retreatment, surgery, treating cracked teeth, and treating dental trauma. Root canal therapy is one of the most common procedures. If the dental pulp (containing nerves, arterioles, venules, lymphatic tissue, and fibrous tissue) becomes diseased or injured, endodontic treatment is required to save the tooth. In root canal treatment, an opening is made through the crown of the tooth into the pulp chamber. The pulp is then removed. The root canal(s) is cleaned and shaped to a form that can be filled. After the procedure, Crown is given to strengthen the tooth.
